Relationship Therapy

Maybe you've started to feel more like roommates than partners and you crave the spark you once shared. Maybe you are re-learning who you are after becoming parents.

Maybe you are looking to reconnect and rebuild trust after a rupture. Maybe you are looking to nurture the foundation that you've already so carefully curated or redefine the structure and roles of your relationship(s).

Whether your relationship is monogamous or consensually non-monogamous, this is a space to come together and feel supported and empowered.

Here at Wildwood, we will collaborate to envision and enact a way forward that aligns with what best fits your relationship. Whether that path includes deepening your connection to each other, finding ways to 'fight better', or charting a map for how to part well; here you will find support without judgment.

The Process

At Wildwood, the approach to working with folks in relationships is collaborative and integrative. The relationship is the client.

While tailoring the process to fit the unique contexts and needs of every relationship, the work pulls primarily from The Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy.

Typically, the initial assessment phase consists of a minimum of four sessions (depending on the number of partners involved); two conjoint sessions for all partners and one individual session for each partner. Within the assessment phase, partners will also utilize resources such as the Gottman Relationship Assessment to curate a comprehensive picture of the core concerns, patterns, themes, and needs presenting within the relationship.

After the initial assessment phase, partners will work together with the therapist to blend exploring, processing, and skills in support of goals for enhanced relational satisfaction.

When appropriate, and in service of therapeutic growth, partners may be offered individual sessions alongside of conjoint sessions.
